Quoteable quotes

I watched something the other night - the opening monologue for the movie (to paraphrase) goes like this:

"No woman wakes up saying 'I don't want to be swept off my feet today'...Basic principles; no matter what, no matter when, no matter who - any man can sweep any woman off her feet, he just needs the right broom..."

Do you agree?

and the movie is....?

If that is true, that scares me. :)

    Hitch.

    Hi Jodi -

No idea about the movie, and as for the sentiment... I think such thoughts are dangerous for a married woman to be thinking ;-) "any man with a broom" is hardly compatible with lifelong faithfulness....

To answer the question about the tracker - you can download it. On my blog site go to the bottom of the page and click on the little icon with the globe (it has an arrow around it). This will take you to the "extreme tracker" page and you can download your own from there. I needed a little help in 'pasting' the html instructions into my blogger (yay for techno-husbands!)... but it only took him a minute, and hey presto! Web stats!!!

hmm....i'd say most women wouldnt mind being swept off their feet any day haha...
but, i'm not entirely sure about no matter what, when and who...
    careful guys... :P

    yep - it was 'hitch'

and for the record i'm not really sure that in practice i agree with it either. kind of a nice theory (except of course like bronwyn says for the marrieds!) when it comes to the idea of a prince charming making some effort, but in practice... i'm dubious - there are just some people it wont work with

And just for the record Jodi, what kind of broom would it take to sweep you up?

Hmmm. I think somehow I've managed to swap my broom for a rake...

    : )

That's crap. Sorry. But it is. No random can sweep you off your feet, although they might like to think they can...that just comes off as arrogance in the end.

Sorry, in very pessimistic mood. Been watching/reading/listening to too much news.
I have a theory...we're on the eve on WW3...really, I think we are. Good news is that America is already so stretched militarily - I mean, how many fronts can they fight on - so they, like all superpowers, are going to collapse.

Why am I ranting here? That's what my blog is for! Ah, idiot! (Napolean voice) Sorry Jodi...

I was going to guess that it was Hitch too.

I can see where the sentiment is attractive to people. Oh, that love was just a matter of getting past those painful introductions & then BANG we find some meaningful, worthwhile relationship.

A rake nathan? what's that about?

and tim - i think you're right on one hand, there is something attractive about the idea of things like love coming easily - but isn't it that it's the hardest stuff that makes it to most worthwhile and the strongest? both at the begining, middle and, dare i say it, the end?

and anon (remind me to comment about anonymous comments later) - for the reason above, that's why i'd need a broom that is strong, patient and persistant in it's sweeping (but that's another post too!)
